Elaine Lopis is an experienced psychologist with 16 years in private practice. She is also an EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) practitioner, which is a powerful therapeutic modality for the treatment of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and many more.
Elaine has worked in private practice with many patients from all walks of life and this has provided her with experience into the variety of problems that people face.

Elaine’s approach towards her clients is respectful and empathic. She comes from an evidence-based focus, meaning she uses strategies that have a research base and have been shown to be effective. As each person is different, therapy is largely adapted to each individual.
Elaine is also an AHPRA-accredited supervisor and supervises provisional psychologists for the 4+2 and 5+1 programs and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Elaine was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and after completing undergraduate and honours degrees in South Africa, completed psychology registration in Australia. She is a university-qualified Business and Life Coach and well qualified in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Besides private practice, Elaine has worked in community health and health promotion, has run her own business and has been a teacher.
Elaine has a special interest in the anxiety disorders and works in most other areas as well.
